# Set up your AI tool

## 1. Point it at the docs

Give your tool the address of the docs list. It names every page as Markdown and carries the instructions the tool must follow.

`https://oathra.dev/llms.txt`

For all the pages at once, give it [The whole docs as one file](https://oathra.dev/llms-full.txt). Every page also has a Markdown twin at its own address with `.md` on the end.

## 2. Add the rules file

Download the rules file and keep it with your project, where your tool reads project rules.

`https://oathra.dev/forge-rules.md`

Each tool reads project rules from its own place. Claude Code reads `CLAUDE.md`. A ChatGPT project takes the file as an instruction or an attached file. GitHub Copilot reads `.github/copilot-instructions.md`.

## 3. Ask it for code

Ask in plain words and tell it to follow the rules file. Replace the words in braces with your own.

```text
Write a Forge indicator that {what it draws}. Follow forge-rules.md.
```

```text
Write a Forge strategy that {entry and exit in words}. Follow forge-rules.md.
```

```text
Port this MQL5 file to a Forge strategy. Say which parts have no Forge form. Follow forge-rules.md.
```

Ask it for an indicator, open what it writes in the editor and save it as a project to see it on the chart.

Ask it for a strategy, download the file and upload it on the Strategy card in Forge.

## What to expect

- An AI tool is good at the shape of a Forge file and bad at names it has not seen. It may use a name that does not exist.
- The editor here catches syntax mistakes. Forge checks the rest when a version is saved or the file is uploaded.
- Forge refuses a file that reads a bar that has not closed.
- A file that loads is not a strategy that works. That is what the test and the verdict are for.
- Give the tool the rules file. It lists what the checker refuses.

## What its code must still pass

Whoever writes a Forge file, it is judged the same way. It declares `FORGE_API` on its first lines. It never reads a bar that has not closed yet, because Forge refuses look-ahead. And it loads without errors.

## Ask here

Every docs page has an Ask about this page row. Log in and the assistant answers from these docs, citing the pages it used.

## Connect the MCP server

The Forge MCP server arrives with the public API.
